When Mokona translates what Fai says into a simple set of three words, he’s downgrading all that Fai says. In a few simple Celestian words, Fai can say more than he ever could in English. Almost literally, he says more than words could say.

Kurogane, when he actually decides to say it, uses the most meaningful Japanese translation of ‘I love you’ there is. In Nihon, it’s already uncommon for “I love you” to be thrown around. For him, of all people, to use strong words meant for soulmates - It says a hell of a lot.
